Key Priority Areas & Initiatives
The implementation of Clinical Redesign initiatives by the three regions of the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) is aligned with the overarching Key Priority Areas for Clinical Redesign in Tasmania. This process is sponsored by the THS and senior management of the North-West, North and South regions, and endorsed by the Health Partners Consortium.
These initiatives are progressing in a phased manner across the program period. Clinical Redesign Offices (CROs) have been set up in each THS region to facilitate and coordinate these initiatives. The CROs consist of Clinical Leads, Senior and Junior Program Officers, and a Surgery Redesign Nurse in each region, and are supported by the HSI Tas team and external consultants where required,
The CROs will follow the five main clinical redesign steps of Scoping, Diagnosing, Implementing, Evaluating and Sustaining Improvements.
Five Key Priority Areas for Clinical Redesign in Tasmania were endorsed by the Consortium:
- Emergency Access
- Elective Surgery
- Bed Demand, Capacity and Flow
- Specialist Outpatient Clinics
- Mental Health
